Most of the manuscripts in the collection belong to the 16th to 18th centuries and are of considerable value in the study of the medieval literature of northern India. The collection also has manuscripts of many important works of the other sects, notably the Nimbark, Ramandi, Vallabhi, Radhavallabhi and Hari Dasi sects. There are about 150 palm leaf manuscripts in the Oriya, Bengali and Nagari scripts and also on bhurjapatra(birch bark). Many of the mss are illustrated.
